These coffee mugs feature the Canadian Military Heritage Museum logo and a British ‘18 pounder’ Artillery Gun.Manufactured in England in 1906 and extensively used in World War One by Commonwealth Artillery forces.
Very likely, this rare gun was one of the first guns received by Canada in 1906 or shortly after. This piece, restored by Mr. Dennis Walker, to be representative of existing 18pdr guns located in Britain used primarily for ceremonial purposes, hence the black paint. In Peace-time guns were painted olive drab and were painted multi-coloured tortoise-shell pattern during WWI.
It was donated to museum in March 2020. They are available in 11 oz. and 15 oz. variations.
The mugs are dishwasher & microwave safe. Images are sublimated onto the mug which embeds the ink into the exterior of the mug for a long lasting vibrant finish.
